Rosary Series - Luminous Mysteries

The Rosary Series focuses on the Mysteries of the Holy Rosary and How to Pray the Rosary. This is an opportunity for youth and adults to learn more about their faith. All youths and adults can work on this activity and earn the patch. This activity can be worked on individually or as a group. It is not necessary to send the completed form. Adults can verify the correct answers.

How to start

  • Answer 5 of 10 of the requirements below for your grade level.
  • Your parent or scout leader will review the answer for correctness.
  • After completing the requirements, a parent or scout leader will complete the Patch Order Form (Word PDF) and mail it along with the applicable fee to the NCCS. The answers to the questions do not need to be forwarded when ordering the patch.

Requirements for 1st through 5th grade (Answer 5 of 10 questions)

  1. Who baptized Jesus?
  2. What was the name of the river where Jesus was baptized? (Matt. 3)
  3. What did God say when Jesus was baptized?
  4. What was Jesus' first miracle? (John 2)
  5. Where did this first miracle happen?
  6. How many disciples went up on the Mountain with Jesus? (Luke 9)
  7. Who appeared on the mountain With Jesus? (Luke 9)
  8. What can you do everyday to make God happy?
  9. What did Jesus say about the bread he used at the Last Supper? (Luke 22)
  10. What did Jesus say about the wine he used at the Last Supper? (Luke 22)

Requirements for 6th through 12th grade (Answer 5 of 10 questions)

  1. Where was Jesus baptized?
  2. What did John the Baptist say about Jesus?
  3. What happened at the Wedding at Cana?
  4. What did Jesus say to his mother? (John 2)
  5. What did his Mother say to the servants?
  6. What did Jesus say about the Kingdom of God?
  7. What must we do to enter Heaven?
  8. Who were the three disciples who accompanied Jesus up on the mountain?
  9. Why were they going to set up three tents?
  10. What was the significance of the bread and wine at the Last Supper?

Requirements for Adults (Answer 5 of 10 questions)

  1. Who was the voice crying out in the desert?
  2. Name the two greatest commandments? (Mark 12)
  3. What sacrament is made holy by the presence of Jesus at Cana?
  4. What was the miracle at Cana?
  5. What must we do to enter the Kingdom of God?
  6. What are the Beatitudes?
  7. How did Jesus look when he was transfigured?
  8. Who were the disciples with Jesus? (Mark: 9)
  9. Just as at the Last Supper, what does the bread and wine become at Mass?
  10. In addition to the Holy Eucharist, what other Sacrament was instituted at the Last Supper?
