NCCS Award for Excellence
Each year, diocesan* Catholic committees plan and execute activities
that further "Duty to God" to Scouting units within the diocese.
The activities can be general activities where Scouts of all ages are
involved, or targeted activities such as an AAD retreat.
The National Catholic Committee on Scouting® established the Award
for Excellence to recognize these outstanding efforts. The dioceses are
recognized each April. A secondary purpose is to make these efforts available
to other dioceses as examples of successful programs.
The procedure involves documenting the activity or event, attaching supporting
documentation, and submitting the completed documentation to the NCCS
office by January 1 of each year. The diocesan committees will be notified
by the NCCS Religious Activities committee each April about their Award
for Excellence submissions.
Based on space available and percentage of documentation in electronic
format, the activity may be posted on the NCCS website for others to review
and use.
Supporting documentation:
* The term diocese is used to include diocese, archdiocese, eparchy,
and archeparchy.
