  • Renewal Plan to be reviewed at April 2008 Biennial Meeting
Throughout the fall, NCCS committee leaders and the Executive Committee will review renewal process findings and recommendations and identify specific ways we will respond and how. We will craft a Renewal Plan and present it for discussion at our upcoming Biennial Meeting.
  • What is the Renewal Process?
It’s our effort to make sure NCCS is strong, vibrant, and an energetic promoter and supporter of Catholic scouting. Every organization – especially one driven by the passion and commitment of its volunteers – needs to take stock of what is working, what is not, the value we represent, and how we can best serve our mission. In spring 2007, we decided to begin a period of collective reflection, to culminate in a Renewal Plan that will guide our work together over the next two years.
  • What issues and aspects of NCCS will the Renewal Process cover?
We want to take a comprehensive look at who we are and what we do – everything from programs to training opportunities, national meeting formats, communication, and governance issues.
  • Who can participate?
We welcome input from anyone interested in or involved with Catholic scouting. Here are ways you might participate:
    • Review Renewal Process findings and recommendations as we post them on the NCCS website and share your ideas and comments.
    • Attend the April 2008 Biennial Meeting where we will review our Renewal Plan. We will also post a draft of the plan on the NCCS website for input and comment.
    • Let us know if you can help us fulfill any aspect of the Renewal Plan! We received a number of wonderful suggestions in areas like training support, communications, regional or biennial meeting activities, religious emblem programs, and more. There will be work to do for anyone interested (e.g., designing or reviewing potential materials and activities).
